I really wanted to capture the brown and black color and texture of his in-game armor so I decided to pair a brown patterned dress with a black cardigan. I also chose brown knee high boots paired with thigh high socks - a big trend for warm fall days. I found a leopard print watch and bag to add more texture to the outfit and some bright blue earrings to represent his suit’s power bar. This outfit could be easily transitioned to winter or colder weather with the addition of thick tights, a black peacoat, and dark brown scarf. This outfit is a gender-bent take on the iconic curvy character. I wanted to focus on the adventure-ness of her character and decided to do a hiking take on her outfit. I chose brown khaki shorts, just a tad longer than Lara’s, and paired them with a striped teal shirt. I also chose a retro army duffel bag, super awesome watch, and pretty cool hiking boots (I don’t think I’ve ever used pretty cool and hiking boots in the same sentence before). I wanted to do something summer-y and casual, because that’s what Mario games are to me. I chose a necklace that is shaped like an egg to reflect Yoshi’s uh, weapon (I’m sure that isn’t the best word for it).
