My Winter Must Haves
This outfit is inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci from Assassin’s Creed. I wanted to do something that looked older, without looking older - so I chose retro prints and silhouettes. I chose a black dress which I paired with a light blue floral cardigan and floral tights. I also chose brown leather boots and a red purse. (Reference Image)
This outfit is inspired by Gaige of Borderlands 2. I chose a black striped sweater to replicate her tights and paired it with a light denim vest with lots of studs and rips. I also chose dark red pants to tie in the color. I found motorcycle boots and a cute robot necklace - which adds the mecromancer part to the outfit. Lastly, I chose a polka dot purse to add a sense of whimsical to the outfit. (Reference Image)
This outfit is inspired by Ada Wong of Resident Evil 6. I really loved her leather pants in game so I wanted to replicate that with some leather-looking leggings. I also chose a slinky black top paired with a red off the shoulder sweater to add a touch of cozy and sexy. I also added suede boots and a clutch to add more texture to the outfit. Lastly, I chose a silver leaf bangle that reminded me of the healing herbs in the game. (Reference Image)
I thought I’d try something new on here and share my favorite fall must-haves.
I chose these make up products because they work excellently in the fall weather. Burt’s Bees, in my opinion, is the best brand for any lip makeup and this tinted lip balm is super cute! I also chose Benefit’s Moon Beam highlighter - one of my daily makeup staples. This highlighter can be used as an alternative to blush highlighting cheekbones, or, if you’re pretty good at makeup things, be used as to contour your face.
I chose this orange blouse with skulls on it because it’s totally different looking, but still has that fall feeling to it. This shirt would look super cute with a pair of skinny jeans and boots, tucked into a wool skirt with tights, or even paired with a slimmer maxi skirt and wedges.
I chose these earrings because I think they’re absolutely beautiful. I’m a huge fan of Juicy Couture’s jewelry line (NOT their sweatpants). They’ve always got really different earrings that look elegant, but quirky. Betsey Johnson is also one of my favorites, but sometimes her jewelry is a little too bold for me. I also chose a red rose pendant necklace because I instantly think floral print for fall - something which I wanted to replicate with jewelry.
4. J.Crew slim fit shirt
This shirt is perfect. Everything about it: the soft grey hue, the peter pan collar, the zipper in the back. I’m in love. One big fall trend this year, which I’m totally on board with, are peter pan collars. This type of collar is super girlie, but has a sort of whimsical look, which I think makes it a great investment piece. It might be trendy right now, but I think peter pan collars could look timeless with the right outfits.
I chose jewelry that was very feminine to me to balance out some of the masculine pieces, like the shoes and skirt. I also chose jewelry with really cute details, like the bow.
6. Wallis mini skirt
This style of skirt is my go-to for fall. I’m constantly pairing wool skirts with various printed tights and cardigans all autumn long. This one in particular is amazing because of the masculine print - adds a touch of unique to an average outfit.
Please ignore how expensive this dress is. It’s more for inspiration - plus, I’ve seen similar styles at Forever 21 for a fraction of the price. I chose this dress because I absolutely love floral for fall. I also love the silhouette of it, I think it would look adorable paired with a dark, long blazer.I also added a dark infinity scarf for transitioning this outfit to cooler weather.
8. J.Crew slim jeans
Colored jeans were all the rage all summer, but can they make it through fall? I believe they can. Choose jeans that are a light, neutral color (no neon pink jeans!) and be sure to pair them with fall colors to warm up the outfit. A lot of stores are also carrying colored cords, which could be a great way to transition this style to winter.
9. Steve Madden black flat
Loafers are huge right now - especially ones that are decorated in some way. These studded loafers are a perfect fall outfit, adding a little bad-ass to anything. I’d pair these shoes with more girlie outfits (like the colored jeans and peter pan collar sweater!) to add a little visual interest.
I believe everyone should have one pair of everyday sunglasses and one pair of fun sunglasses. This pair falls into the second group. They are so fun, but still look totally fashionable and sleek.
10. Steve Madden leopard flat
Steve Madden is my favorite brand of shoes, so he’s making a second appearance on this list. I found this adorable leopard print oxfords which I think would look great with almost any outfit. Now, I know most people are a little intimidated by wearing leopard print, but just remember: it’s a neutral (of sorts). You can wear leopard print with essentially any color and any simple print. Don’t go pairing leopard print with zebra print and a bold floral - but if you keep it simple, it could look amazing!
This outfit is inspired by Maxwell of Scribblenauts. I wanted to do a preppy take on his mismatched outfit and chose denim shorts with a light blue shirt. I also chose a green bag and navy shoes. I wanted to capture the drawing essence of the game and found a really cool pencil pendent necklace! (Reference Image)
This outfit is inspired by the Sunflowers of Plants vs. Zombies. I chose to do something super girlie and cute because that’s the first thing I think of when I see the Sunflower. I chose bright yellow rain gear and paired it with a cute, retro green dress. I pulled the whole outfit together with light brown accessories. (Reference Image)
This outfit is inspired by Solid Snake of the Metal Gear series. I chose to do an evening outfit interpretation of him with a black and grey palette. (Reference Image)
This outfit is inspired by the Maw of the arcade game, the Maw. I chose to do this character because it’s so fun and bright and I thought that would translate to a really fun summer outfit. I chose primarily purple with splashes of green, similar to the palette of the character. To balance out these bright colors and to keep them from becoming overwhelming, accessorize with light neutrals. (Reference Image)
This outfit is inspired by Princess Daisy of the Mario games. I chose to do a very 50’s ladylike outfit, complete with retro cut dress and jacket. I chose shades of yellow, mustard, and green to imitate her color palette. I also chose feminine details to mimic her girly personality in the games. (Reference Image)
This outfit is the last of our Pokèmon themed day and is inpsired by the infamous Pikachu. I think my favorite part of this outfit is the contrast between the black and the yellow, it just looks super cute (That, and the lightning bolt necklace). This outfit can be dressed up or dressed down really easily by swapping out the accessories. (Reference Image)
This look is inspired by Agent 47 of the Hitman series. I chose to do a girl outfit because I think a guy interpretation would be so predictable. I added menswear inspired pieces, like the trench coat and oxfords, along with more feminine touches, like the tie. (Reference Image)
This one is another request, coming from Reddit, for a Katamari inspired outfit. By using modern shapes, this outfit makes all of these crazy colors actually look cool. You could totally wear this on a night out, or with more neutrals (like the grey) pretty much anywhere. (Reference Image)
