Today is Doom’s 19th Birthday!!!
This outfit is inspired by the Imp from the Doom series. Since his character design is relatively simple, I wanted to bring a lot of different textures to this outfit to avoid it looking “boring”. I began by choosing a dark brown leather skirt which I paired with a sheer burgandy top. This top also has silver studs on the collar which reminded me of the Imp’s spikes. I knew I couldn’t have a completely brown outfit, so I added a black boot (with more studs) for a little visual difference. To make the whole thing look cohesive, I found a purse that included both the brown and black color palette, leather look, and studs. Pieces like the purse can help to tie together a look when it’s eclectic. (Reference Image)
Note: I can’t figure out why the outfit image is off centered. To all my OCD followers, I apologize! It’s driving me crazy too! :P
This outfit is inspired by the Elementalist profession of Guild Wars 2. Now as someone who has never played Guild Wars, this “class” really captivated me - just on looks alone. I referenced concept art to create this outfit and I have to say, it’s one of my favorites.
I wanted to really capture the fluidity of the character’s outfit by both shapes and colors. I chose a sheer hi-low dress, paired with darker accessories. I also chose pieces in a wide range of cool colors; from teal to blue to purple. I wanted it to look almost watercolor-y.
This outfit is great for summer, but can be transitioned to fall by adding tights and boots, and a cool colored cardigan. (Reference Image)
This outfit is a little different than our usual “inspired” outfits. I chose to create an outfit that is not only inspired by the E3 logo, but what I would wear if I was going.
For those of you who don’t know what E3 is, it’s an annual video game conference where the biggest gaming companies unveil their newest games, consoles, and announcements. It’s a really big deal in the gaming industry and it’s one of my biggest dreams to one day go.
I chose do focus on the palette of the logo by choosing a red blazer paired with a striped yellow shirt. I chose to do all of the accessories in black to contract the red and yellow. I also chose a small cross body purse because I find a small purse is way easier to wear at a convention - that way your hands are free to play some games or snap pictures. I also chose probably not the most comfortable, but definitely the cutest shoes - if wedges aren’t your thing, this outfit would be really cute with black flats. Lastly, I chose a grenade necklace because I think E3 is one of the only places where that sort of thing would be acceptable. (Reference Image)
This outfit is inspired by Leliana of Dragon Age. I absolutely fell in love with this top and decided to base most of the outfit around it. It’s got a super flattering cut, great color (that matches Leliana’s armor), and a cute pattern. I chose feather-looking earrings and a feather ponytail holder. I also chose brown leather accessories to mimic her in-game outfit’s palette. (Reference Image)
This outfit is inspired by the protagonist of the Bayonetta game. Bayonetta is possibly the sexiest female protagonist (to me at least), and I wanted to capture that sexiness in a unique way. Just like Bayonetta, this outfit does not show a lot of skin, but the skin it does show is super sexy. Cutouts on the top and shoes highlight flashes of skin, and the leather detail on the pants look super hot. I chose butterfly accessories to add a sense of whimsical to the outfit just like the game’s mood. I also chose sunglasses instead of Bayonetta’s usual glasses because I think it’s more universal (not everyone will wear fashion frames). This outfit is perfect for a night out, or when you want to stand out without showing too much. (Reference Image)
This outfit is inspired by the Heavy class of Team Fortress 2. I chose a similar color palette to his in-game outfit, and replicated the look of a bandolier with a cross body bag. (Reference Image)
This look is inspired by the fantastic Aela the Huntress of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. I absolutely love this character and actually cosplay as her, so I was a little bit biased when someone requested it. I chose a similar palette to her own clothing, but with more casual (and covered) cuts. I also chose animal themed accessories because shes obsessed with going on those animal extinction quests. Finally get some cake with this Chell inspired outfit from the Portal series. (Reference Image)
